Homeownership in the United States has become increasingly out of reach, with prices soaring beyond $400,000 in August. Fortunately, several tiny home choices are affordable to Americans with low budgets. On Amazon, for instance, a two-bedroom mobile tiny home costs just under $20,000.

The tiny, pre-fabricated home is being sold by EMONIA Home Textile & Furniture on Amazon for $19,000---which is about the same price as the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage. Despite the affordable price tag, the two-bedroom home is made primarily of metal and is equipped with all the basic features of a normal home, including a kitchen, shower, toilet, and water heater. Additionally, the home from EMONIA has working electric and plumbing systems. It also comes with a fenced-in front porch.

The house comes with two bedrooms but can be customized and expanded. It weighs about 999 pounds but has various safety measures protecting it from inclement weather, such as fire protection, earthquake resistance, and moisture resistance.

Other Tiny Homes From Amazon and Walmart

Besides EMONIA's tiny home, Amazon offers mobile options from the Generic store. One of the offerings includes a luxury three-bedroom modern insulated home that comes fully equipped with a kitchen and a bathroom.

Like the EMONIA house, the three-bedroom home from Generic can be expanded and customized to suit the buyer's needs.

Other than Amazon, Walmart now offers tiny homes. A pre-fabricated house from Chery sells for just $15,900. That offering measures 19 feet long, 20 feet wide, and 8 feet tall. The house features 10 double-pane sliding lattice windows and was built using waterproof, stainless steel materials. It also includes a bathroom with a toilet, shower, and a mirror above a sink.

Furthermore, the Chery tiny home has a full-size kitchen and an open-plan living space. The house has an estimated 20-year lifespan.

How Much Is a Home in the US?

For perspective, the median sale price of a home in the US is $434,050 as of August, according to data from Redfin. A hopeful buyer must earn about $115,000 annually to afford a typical home.
