Imagine a home with a smart battery to store energy, spaces designed for comfort, and a yard ready for anything, like floods or droughts. People want homes that feel safe, are better for the planet, and look amazing.

Sustainable Features
In recent years, home buyers have flocked to homes equipped with sustainable and environmentally friendly features. According to the Zillow analysis, 62% of home buyers mentioned wanting to have whole-home batteries that store excess energy generated by solar panels.
Cozy, Classic Styles
After years of big, open spaces, people are now choosing smaller, cozier rooms. Vintage furniture and old-fashioned decorations are making a comeback. These designs make homes feel warm and personal.
The survey noted that there has been a 35% increase in home listings using the term "cozy" to describe the house for sale.

Climate-Ready Homes
Many yards in the future will be designed to handle extreme weather. Some homes might have barriers to keep out floodwater. In fact, the survey noted that the share of home listings mentioning flood barriers has risen by 22% compared to 2023.
Listings mentioning water catchment systems are also up 19%. This system, known also as a rainwater harvesting system, is designed to collect and store rainwater for various uses. It's a great system to install if your home is located in areas where freshwater is scarce or where the municipal water supply is unreliable.
Wellness at Home
Lastly, there has been a 19% increase in listings mentioning spa-like amenities and upgrades to bathrooms and wet rooms.
For context, a wet room is a room that combines the shower and the bathtub into one space. These rooms do not typically have shower curbs or enclosures.
