Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk could soon be moving to South Florida after reports that he is eyeing a luxury penthouse that belonged to the late beauty mogul Sydell Miller.
Musk has been seen around South Florida lately. As of recent, the billionaire spent Thanksgiving dinner at the Mar-a-Lago estate of incoming President Donald Trump.
Now, Page Six is reporting that Musk could be planning to buy Miller's penthouse in The Bristol, located just seven minutes away from Mar-a-Lago. The late Miller bought the penthouse in 2019 for $42.56 million, which was considered the most expensive sale of a condominium in the city at the time.
The penthouse, comprising two apartments, spans 19,000 square feet. It also features an on-site gym and spa and is said to be located in a neighborhood highly favored by the elite in the area.
What Are the Rumors Claiming?
Musk has neither confirmed nor denied reports about his supposed plans to move to Florida. However, local news outlet Palmer Palm Beach said Miller's family is currently "mulling an offer" from the tech billionaire.
"If accepted, the deal would likely top [$100 million] and break every West Palm Beach real estate record," the outlet further claimed.
Steve Hall, a top-grossing agent for Compass, said Musk's recent visits to the state could prove that he is indeed looking to move to Florida, but he noted that the billionaire would likely find a property closer to Mar-a-Lago.
"I'm not surprised that he would want to, and with his role within the new administration, be close to that," Hall told Fox News Digital.
Musk's Relationship With Trump
If the rumors are true, his move could be logical as he is set to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency alongside Vivek Ramaswamy under the Trump administration.
In a statement, Trump said the temporary agency would be responsible for dismantling "government bureaucracy," slashing excess regulations and cutting wasteful expenditures. Additionally, he said the agency will oversee the restructuring of federal agencies that are "essential to the Save America movement."
Musk played a major part in Trump's reelection campaign, having donated $239 million to the America PAC.
