A plot of land next to Jeff Bezos' mansion in Miami-Dade, Florida, is now on sale for $200 million. The twist? The plot is vacant and does not come with a home.
The 1.84-acre property is located on Indian Creek, a private island known to many as the "Billionaire Bunker." The neighborhood is home to many well-known figures, including Tom Brady and Jeff Bezos.
There isn't anything known about the "mystery seller" of the $200 million lot beside Bezos' property. The listing was first reported by the New York Post who spoke to real estate broker Ilya Reznik of the Reznik Group.
Behind the Listing
According to Reznik, the sellers are "private people" who bought the lot for $27.5 million in 2018. The sellers were initially planning on building on the lot, "but then plans changed, and they decided to sell."
The Zillow listing stated that the nearly two-acre lot includes 200 feet of waterfront footage, access to a country club inside the private island, and an 18-hole golf course. Indian Creek also has its own police force.
Buyers of the lot will have predesigns for a 25,000-square-foot estate available to them, the listing noted.
Speaking with Business Insider, Reznick said that while Bezos' purchase had an effect on the prices of the lots and homes in the area, the listing price ultimately boils down to the plot's "very unique location."
Bezos' Property on Indian Creek
The buyers of the $200 million lot would spend a bit less than Bezos, who paid $237 million for three properties on the island—specifically 11, 12, and 28 Indian Creek Island Road. He purchased the first property in June 2023 for $68 million, followed by the lot next door for $79 million and a third parcel for $90 million.
Bezos' purchase of the second property is most notable, primarily because the seller is now suing Douglas Elliman, the brokerage that handled the deal. In the lawsuit, the seller claimed that the broker misled him about the identity of the buyer and led him to sell the property at a 7.1% discount.
