Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Montecito Mansion Now Valued at $29M

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's sprawling mansion in Montecito has now doubled in value after the couple purchased it in 2020.

Markle and Harry purchased their nine-bedroom mansion for $14.65 million in June 2020 after they departed from royal duties. Since then, the value of the Sussexes' home has increased by about 110% to approximately $29.6 million, according to a new Zillow estimate.

The substantial increase in their home's value outpaces the general real estate trend in the area. Median home prices in Montecito rose around 87.1% from June 2020 to the same month last year, per data from real estate website Redfin.

What To Know about the Couple's Property

The couple's sprawling estate, officially named the Chateau of Riven Rock, features nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms across 18,671 square feet of living space. The interiors are designed using modern and Victorian elements, with off-white walls and large windows and doors.

The main residence features a home office shared by the Sussexes, a gym and sauna, a wine cellar, a games room and arcade, a library, and an at-home movie theater.

Outdoors, the Montecito mansion features extensive gardens with tiered rose beds and olive trees, a large swimming pool, a tennis court, a children's cottage and adventure playground, a chicken coop, a tea house, and a two-bedroom guest house.

Additionally, the 7.4-acre property features a roomy terrace with a wood-fired stove, a five-car garage, and a private road with a lengthy driveway and security gates.

Markle and Harry live in the mansion with their children Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3.

Renting a Mansion

Despite the Montecito mansion's stunning backdrop, Markle has decided to rent an $8 million farmhouse for the filming of her upcoming Netflix series, "With Love, Megan." Set to premiere on Jan. 15, the series will "blend practical how-to's and candid conversations." A trailer showed Markle performing various activities, including cooking and arranging flowers.

The eight-episode series will star Markle as well as a number of celebrity guests and her closest friends, including Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer.

Markle will serve as the host and executive producer for the series.
