10 Celebrities Who Lost Their Homes in the Devastating LA Wildfires

The wildfires in Los Angeles in January 2025 have become one of the most devastating fire events in the city's history. Multiple fires, including the Palisades, Eaton, and Kenneth fires, have burned across Southern California, fueled largely by the fierce Santa Ana winds and historically dry conditions.

These fires have collectively burned over 35,000 acres of land, destroyed more than 10,000 structures, and claimed at least 10 lives. Some of the homes burned included those belonging to celebrities.

Below is a list of stars whose homes were either impacted or tragically lost in the flames.

1. Billy Crystal

The beloved comedian and actor lost his Pacific Palisades home, where he and his wife Janice had lived for over 46 years. The house burned down Wednesday, the actor confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.

2. Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton's Malibu beach mansion was completely destroyed by the Palisades Fire. The hotel heiress and media personality shared a video of her vacation home burnt to the ground in an Instagram statement. Hilton also said she watched her home burn to the ground on live TV.

3. Mandy Moore

The This Is Us actress said the fire ripped through her home and her neighborhood. While the main house is "mostly intact," she noted that it was currently "not livable."

In addition to losing their home, Moore's musician husband, Taylor Goldsmith, lost his instruments and studio equipment in the blaze.

4. Cary Elwes

Known for his role in The Princess Bride, Cary Elwes filmed his evacuation from his Malibu home Tuesday night. He described the wildfire as "biblical," stopping briefly during the evacuation to film the blaze.

5. Mark Hamill

The Star Wars actor evacuated his Malibu home with his wife and dog around 7 p.m. Tuesday but later confirmed its destruction. He described the experience as the most horrific fire he had witnessed since 1993.

6. James Woods

The 77-year-old actor evacuated from his Pacific Palisades neighborhood but later revealed that houses on his street had been destroyed, including his own. The star broke down in tears during a CNN interview while he was discussing the situation in his neighborhood.

"One day, you're swimming in the poo,l and the next da,y it's all gone," he said.

7. Jeff Bridges

The seasoned actor lost his Malibu residence to the Palisades Fire. His spokesperson confirmed the loss, adding that Bridges was heartbroken over the destruction. The property was an ancestral home that he shared with siblings Lucinda and Beau.

8. Anna Faris

Anna Faris also lost her Pacific Palisades home to the fires. She bought the house in 2019, two years after her split from former husband Chris Pratt.

9. Eugene Levy

The fire also razed the home of Schitt's Creek star and honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades, Eugene Levy. Photos published Wednesday by PEOPLE showed that only the stone chimney and charred hedges remained of the star's property.

10. Mel Gibson

Oscar-winning film star Mel Gibson said his Malibu home was "completely toasted" in the wildfire. He was working in Austin, Texas, at the time when the fire ravaged his neighborhood. He has since criticized Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-CA, over the crisis.
