MacBook Air Retina, MacBook Pro, Apple Watch: MacBook Air Retina Available? Shipping Details Revealed Online [Rumors]

A few days before the big event scheduled by Apple, shipping details for the MacBook Air and 13" Retina MacBook Pro were changed on the Apple website.

According to Mac Rumors, the listing for the MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro switched from "in stock" to "1 business day."
It's heavily rumored that the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro line will be getting upgrades soon and with the "Spring Forward" event happening on March 9, it's expected that aside news from details on the Apple Watch, updates for the MacBook series will be announced.

Digital Trends notes that the delay is quite unusual because "after the initial delays associated with every new Apple product, MacBooks are normally available to ship immediately," said the site.

Relatedly, it continued to analyze:

"Significantly, only the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina are delayed. That's important because they are the only models currently eligible for a refresh. Intel has only released dual-core versions of fifth-generation Core chips, so there's no new hardware to replace the quad-core in the 15-inch model. If the delays aren't indicative of an upcoming refresh, then this is an incredible coincidence."

While these new tidbits open up the possibility of an upcoming 13-inch MacBook Air, it follows a recently released report by the Wall Street Journal (via Fortune) that claims the model won't be releasing during the upcoming "Spring Forward" event. The new Retina laptop doesn't have a specific release date but would be released no earlier than the second quarter of 2015.

'Spring Forward"

Last week Apple sent out invites to an event titled "Spring Forward" to be held on March 9 at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, California. While the title itself doesn't give much away as to what the Cupertino-based firm could have up its sleeve, it most likely has something to do with the Apple Watch.

Mashable reports that the title may be related to the upcoming daylight savings that will happen on March 8, a day before the Apple event.

The Apple Watch was unveiled in September along with the firm's newest smartphone, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

While we can't entirely be sure what Apple will launch alongside its first wearable technology, we can expect that we'll know more about the Watch's features, pricing structure as well as the date when the device will hit the shelves.

Stay tuned for more.
