‘Microsoft Surface Pro 4’ Release Date, Specs, & Price: New Tablet Coming Before iPad Pro? Surface Pro Mini in the Works?

Fans looking for a hybrid device have been in great anticipation of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 ever since reports of it first came out. Now, it seems that the powers-that-be behind the innovative gadget is a few months closer to bringing it to the public as reports have circulated that it would be released way ahead of its rumored rival, Apple's iPad Pro.

Microsoft is the first to bring a hybrid device into the market with the creation of its Surface Pro that could be transformed into a tablet with the removal of the keyboard from a laptop form.

With the market now becoming more competitive, the company behind this hybrid unit decided to come up with not one but two sizes of the upcoming device, said Inquistr.

According to rumors, the Surface Pro 4 would come in 12-inch and 14-inch models to suit the market's different needs.

Meanwhile, Investor Place noted that while the screen display would vary in size, both would have the same resolution. It is rumored that the upcoming unit would have a 2160x1440 screen resolution.

Perhaps the best thing that could happen to the device, if rumors are true, is the reported RAM size and storage memory that would come with it.

A gigantic 16GB of RAM paired with 1TB of storage and backed by Intel's Core M Broadwill chip would make the new Surface Pro 4 one, if not the most, powerful hybrid device to ever come out on the market to date.

Of course, with such memory and fast processor, it would not be a surprise if it would indeed come already bundled with the new Windows 10 system.

Thus, although it would give its tablet rivals a run for their money, as a laptop, the Surface Pro 4 would also not be left behind.

No specific release date has been mentioned for the new device but reports peg its release to be July 2015. With the unveiling of the iPad Pro moved to September, the hybrid device could enjoy less competition when it is released on the said date, noted Inquisitr.

Many have been speculating regarding the early arrival of the hybrid device as prices of the Surface Pro 3 have been slashing since early 2015.

Meanwhile, if a 12-inch hybrid device is still too big a size, Microsoft is reportedly addressing this concern by coming up with a smaller version of the Surface Pro 4.

Dubbed as the "Surface Pro 4 Mini," it is said to be around 8 inches, with an equally powerful processor as its bigger counterpart.

Microsoft has yet to announce the exact date of arrival of their three new "Surface Pro 4" devices.
