Following the massively successful theater release of "Fifty Shades of Grey," the stars of the film return for the sequel and spill details about what the film has in store.
Jamie Dornan, 32, and Dakota Johnson, 25, spoke about the trilogy's second installment, "Fifty Shades Darker" and where their characters -- Christian Grey and Ana Steele, respectively -- will be in the upcoming movie.
In an interview with MTV (via Enstarz), "She goes through such an ark in the first book and really like explores herself in this whole other world," the actress said. "In the second book, I think Ana becomes a woman," revealed Johnson about her character.
As Steele becomes a "new woman," according to Dornan, her beau, Christian, is having a journey of his own.
The hunky actor who brought the BDSM-practicing billionaire to life is satisfied with the way he handled the role. "I feel good about where I wanted to take him and what I felt with him," admitted the Northern Irish celebrity.
"We'll see different sides of him so I'm looking forward to exploring that," he added about Christian Grey.
Dornan's Sticking Around
Fans were worried a few days earlier when rumors hit that "The Siege of Jadotville" actor wouldn't be returning for the second and third installment. It was cited that his wife, Amelia Warner was uncomfortable with the explicit sex scenes her husband had to do with his co-star.
However, it has been confirmed the stars will be returning and rumors have it Dornan has been given quite the raise. "Jamie has signed the deal and he's thrilled, the money on offer was just too good," said a source for The Daily Star (via Realty Today).
"He's been really worried that he will get typecast as Christian Grey and it will do his long-term career ambitions damage. So he was about to walk away and leave it all behind then bosses of the movie franchise came back with the jaw-dropping offer."
Apparently, from a $100,000 paycheck from the first film, Dornan now stands to gain about $12 million for the remaining films.
The silver screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic series has smashed box office records to become one of the highest-grossing explicit films in history, reports Metro UK.
Earning over $500 million globally, the R-Rated film's success doesn't come as a surprise. The books have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, the three part series first hit the shelves in 2011 with "Fifty Shades of Grey." Following this, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" were published in 2012.
