Fans anticipating the much awaited sequel to the fashion comedy film 'Zoolander" would be delighted to learn that the movie is coming out next year. Rumors of a follow up to the highly anticipated film has long circulated, but it was only recently confirmed on Paris Fashion Week.
During Paris Fashion Week, A-listers, celebrities, and fashion icons were all seated, eagerly awaiting Valentino's Spring 2015 Fashion Show. They were all expecting to see gorgeous and unique creations from the world-renowned designer, so they were not prepared to see Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson strut their stuff at the runway.
According to Vanity Fair, the duo's appearance at the runway was all part of the public relations strategy to build the hype for the sequel, which is due to come out on Feb. 12, 2016.
Both Stiller and Wilson strutted their stuff as Derek Zoolander and Hansel, their respective characters in the film.
They both donned clothes from the 2015 Spring Collection of Valentino. Stiller wore a "custom night butterlies brocade suit with hand-embroidered overcoat and black creeper shoes." Meanwhile, Wilson was outfitted in a "silk continent-print pajama suit with double cashmere overcoat and open sneakers."
To add drama to their catwalk stint, both actors dropped their coats as they exited the runway.
Paramount Pictures took a photo of the pair on the runway and posted it on their Twitter page.
The tweet said, "So hot right now: Derek & Hansel blaze down the @MaisonValentino runway, #Zoolander2 announced. Coming Feb. 12, 2016"
To add "credibility" to their runway stint, Stiller and Wilson took photos backstage with other celebrities, such as Cara Delevigne and Anna Wintour.
Their photo with Wintour was posted at the Vogue magazine's Instagram page, with a caption stating the return of "Hansel and Derek."
Although limited details are known about the sequel, it is expected to include a lot of high-fashion clothes and stylish places, noted Games Radar.
Stiller would return to reprise his role as model Derek Zoolander alongside Wilson, his former rival, Hansel.
Penelope Cruz was recently confirmed as a new addition.
Will Ferrell would also come back as the fashion guru, Mugatu, and Christine Taylor as his wife, Matilda.
No word has been made if Billy Zane would also join the cast once again.
Stiller would write the script with Justin Theroux; he will direct the sequel as well, said the Hollywood Reporter.
