'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ PS4, Xbox One Release Date To Be Announced Soon? Petition Gaining Ground!

The people behind the popular video game, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," have taken great pains and effort to bring something fresh and exciting to the fans. In spite of this new release, many still clamor for the previous installment, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2."

According to Tech Times, fans of the video game by Activision are seeking a remastered version of the franchise's second installment as the current game is littered with bugs and risks for potential hackers.

The fans seem to feel so strongly about this as they have taken matters into their own hands. An online petition was put up in the site, Change.org, which has been garnering a lot of supporters and signatures.

The petition placed online sought to have game developers upgrade the first version of the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" to make it playable for next generation consoles.

According to the writer of the petition, "I speak for everyone when I say that Modern Warfare 2 was one of Activision's best game. Just a fun & enjoyable game that really gives you that nostalgia feeling. The guns, maps, kill streaks were just incredible. At the moment mw2 for the ps3 & xbox is just overrun by hackers."

He continued, "If they remaster the game, & sort a couple things out (e.g. noob tubing) it would make a lot of people happy."

The petition has already reached 110,000 signatures since it was put up last week and more fans are anticipated to sign it. This led many to hope for a remastered version for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

While the best thing Activision could do is give in to the petition and come up with a newer and better version of the popular game, it may not be as easy it seems.

One thing that may be hindering the company is the fact that a new "Call of Duty" game is released every year, said Latin Times.

Developers could just focus on coming up with a grander and better installment than exerting effort in revisiting an old one for some upgrade.

Aside from that, the developer of the original version, Infinity Ward, is not run by the same people connected with it when "Modern Warfare 2" came about. Jason West and Vince Zampella, who brought to life the videogame when they were still with the company, already left for another firm.

Activision has not made any comment on the issue ever since the petition was put up. Hence, it remains to be seen if the company would give in to pressure and come out with a remastered edition to keep the fans happy.
