There are rumors spreading that the members of the popular music group "One Direction" will be splitting up with everyone set on pursuing solo careers. Now, 50 Cent has revealed his willingness to work with Zayn Malik on a solo rap career.
Britain's Sun (via Philly.com) reveals that 50 Cent is open to signing the pop star to his record label G-Unit Records. The rapper says a solo deal can be penned should the Brit singer move on from the band.
"If Zayn wants a rap career, just because of who he is, he is going to sell records. But if he wants to be credible he has to be with the right people. I'd happily sign him up to my label, mentor him and have him working with the biggest rappers on the planet," said 50 Cent.
The "In Da Club" artist also added that aside from Zayn, he's also open to work with the man behind 1D, Simon Cowell. "I have always wanted to work with Simon, so this could be a joint venture."
The transition from successful boybands to solo careers hasn't been favorable for everyone but 39-year-old music icon doesn't doubt that the boys of 1D have what it takes. The rapper cited a former N'Sync superstar as an example. "There is no doubt the members of One Direction are going to launch solo careers, and sometimes the bravest go on to be the biggest. Look at Justin Timberlake."
As of now, the 22-year-old 1D member hasn't made an official response to the offer but it has been highly rumored that Malik is interested in rap music. As reported earlier, there are rumors that the boys of One Direction haven't been seeing eye to eye and that Malik has been exploring a rap career on the side.
Relatedly, Naughty Boy (aka Shahid Khan) has confirmed that he has worked with Zayn and that the pop star has a knack for the music genre. "Zayn's actually quite a good rapper," he said. "We've been in the studio doing some One Direction stuff and you know, he can spit bars! Of course he can! Big up Zayn and his bars," said the producer (via Digital Spy).
He further added that he and Malik had a "natural understanding" given their Pakistani background.
"We're both from Pakistani backgrounds. We both come from similar kind of backgrounds," he said. "He's from Bradford, I'm from Watford. In terms of how we grew up, there was a natural understanding."
From the way rap music insiders are talking about Zayn, should the boys of One Direction -- composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Malik -- end up going their separate ways, he's got some options lined up.
