Residents of the high-end community of Toluca Lake in Los Angeles would soon find themselves with a new famous neighbor. Word is out that the "Eurythmics" member and producer, Dave Stewart, has acquired a property in the said neighborhood.
According to Los Angeles Times, Stewart purchased the property from TV producer Mark Brazill, who was connected with "That 70s Show," for US$5.55 million.
The house, built in the mid-1920s, served as a previous home to many known Hollywood actors. It was constructed by Toluca Lake pioneer and designer William Klump, said Variety.
The 4,761 square-feet house was recently restored and updated to bring back its old school charm. Real estate listings called the two-storey house a "Santa Barbara style authentic & chic Spanish estate."
It boasts of five bedrooms and six bathrooms complete with a breakfast room and formal dining room as well as family and living rooms.
The living room features a tile flooring with double-height central foyer for an airy and spacious feel inside. The formal living and dining rooms are both outfitted with wooden floors that add charm to the whole area as well.
A fireplace is found at the living room for those chilly days that require extra warmth inside the house.
One of the highlights of the lovely house is a loggia designed with arched windows that gives a glimpse of the scenery outside.
Meanwhile, the family room is outfitted with a wooden beam ceiling reminiscent of old Spanish villas.
The master suite's area extends to its own private terrace that opens to a view of the garden and the golf course outside the property. One of the house's four bedrooms even has its own private balcony.
One would find himself not lacking in space to occupy with the vast expanse of the garden available for the house's resident. Outside the spacious home is a well-manicured lawn with patios and terraces great for lounging or outdoor parties.
There is also a swimming pool where one could cool off to find respite from the sun's heat. If the nights get too chilly, an outdoor fireplace is also available for guests to chill out.
The estate also comes with a guesthouse that could be converted to an office, if needed.
The Toluca Lake property has a detached garage that could fit three cars as well.
The estate's previous owners were Howard Hughes and Billie Dove, a famous silent film star. Jayne Gaynor and Greta Garbo also reportedly wanted the beautiful property but failed to acquire the estate.
