Ever since Polyphony Digital made the announcement that "Gran Turismo 7" is coming to PlayStation consoles soon, many fans of the franchise have been waiting to get their hands on the popular racing series.
Since "Gran Turismo 6" was released in 2013, followers of the game have been looking forward to the next installment. Before the game was launched that year, numerous reports already circulated that "GT7" would immediately follow the next year, said Master Herald.
However, as 2014 passed by without any sight of the racing game exclusively for Sony PlayStation consoles, speculations now claim that it could be expected in late 2015.
In a 2014 report on Game Spot, Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the popular video game, said that it's possible for the "GT7" to arrive to current-generation consoles in 2015 or 2016.
It seems that the developers behind the video game do not need a huge amount of time to prepare everything as they revealed that creating the game for the PlayStation 4 is easier than adapting it for the PlayStation 3.
The upcoming video game would be released exclusively to PlayStation 4 consoles.
This exclusivity eliminated the need for developers to worry in terms of balancing the graphics between two different kinds of consoles.
Yamauchi said that making the game for the current-gen console is easier as "everything will be running naturally."
While not many details on the upcoming video game were revealed, the creators hinted that fans could expect a great deal out of it as they would incorporate "everything they couldn't do in 'GT6.'"
This news prompted some fans to suggest that the upcoming game would fare much better than the recent Sony release, "Driveclub."
"Driveclub" is another road racing videogame developed by Evolution Studios for Sony. It was released in 2014.
While many fans enjoyed the new game, it failed to generate a cult following achieved by the "Gran Turismo" franchise.
One of the concerns mentioned was the lack of car customization, which left players frustrated as they find this feature very important to win the race.
Aside from that, regular cars such as Honda, Toyota, Ford, and Nissan were not available for selection and only high-end cars like the MacLaren and Mercedes Benz were usable.
With these downsides reportedly addressed by the developers of "GTA7," the upcoming video game might just be on its way back to the top of all racing games when it arrives to consoles soon.
Polyphony Digital Community Manager Erick Fishback promised that the new "GTA7" arriving soon would not disappoint and would be the "best one yet," said Autoomobile.
