Nike Shoes 2015: LeBron 12 'Fruity Pebbles' Release Date Reminder [Price & Where to Buy]

A new release date was announced for the Nike LeBron 12 Fruity Pebbles and it's right around the corner. The Fruity Pebbles sneaker was initially slated for a March 11 release but it was announced that the shoe's launch would be delayed by a week to Wed. March 18.

The playful design of the new Fruity Pebbles is reminiscent of the earlier LeBron 4 that makes use of the famous cereal as its inspiration. Regretfully only available for kids, the release information provided by Nike indicates that the shoe will retail with a price tag of $60 to $160 with a black/ rainbow color scheme.

Kids that have a preference for colorful and fun design have the "Fruity Pebble" to look forward to. It's made of a hyperposite material that works well with the black megafuse upper orange laces. Additionally, to cap the shoe off, it also has a ice bottom sole.

What inspired the the rainbow-bright design? The idea for the Fruity Pebble shoe stems from the basketball superstar's childhood.

The sweet cereal became James' favorite snack beginning in the fourth grade. Nike's release information details that due to legal issues, "Fruity Pebbles" is not the sneakers' official name but "Cereal."

Nike lists the shoe as "Kids' LeBron 12 'Cereal'," describes the shoe to be "Inspired by LeBron's breakfast. Ready for your fast breaks."

"From 4th grader to 2-time champ, LeBron's favorite snack growing up is still a go-to after games. These kids-only kicks cover the LeBron 12's game-elevating explosion with 7 spoon-slamming colors-perfect for everything from fast breaks to breakfast. Available Wednesday, 3.18 on Nike.com (10am PST/7am EST)."

Kids' LeBron 12 GS is priced $160 and caters to sizes 3.5Y-7Y, the Kids' LeBron 12 PS is at $90 for sizes 10.5C-3Y and the last, Kids' LeBron 12 TD is $60 for sizes 2C-10C.

Unfortunately for young adults and older fans that also have a history and fondness for the cereal, they won't be able to grab their own pair but nothing is stopping them from purchasing some for their kids. Those interested to get their hands on the new shoe will be able to make their purchase in selected Nike retail stores beginning March 18.
