Oscar-Winning Actress Rita Moreno Puts Malibu Mansion on Market for $2.6 Million

Buyers looking to wake up to the scene of the Malibu beach every day could finally make their dreams come true. News came out that a property in the area was listed on sale, and this one comes with an expansive view.

According to a report in Los Angeles Times, a cottage in Malibu was placed on sale through the Sotheby's International Realty. Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno, who became famous in the film adaptation of the "West Side Story," owns the property.

The Malibu cottage was constructed in 1962 and it looks out to an amazing view of the ocean. Though the house looks simple from the outside, it offers numerous features that would make its next owners stay the relaxing and peaceful place

Moreno's Malibu place was formerly a rental house within a short distance from the Malibu beach where one could relax under the sun. The single-storey bungalow is equipped with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

A front patio is placed overlooking the ocean. One could just stand outside and take in the serene view of the horizon where the ocean meets the sky. Surrounded by plants and shrubberies, the greens help one chill and counter the otherwise very hot temperature in the area.

It comes with a living room where one could entertain guests and enjoy the view of the ocean. There is also a dining room that comes equipped with a kitchen with white walls and built-in ovens, gas range, and double-door refrigerators, all in aluminum.

Spacious cupboards peppered the kitchen's wall, which could house a huge amount of groceries, pans, pots, and utensils. There is also a breakfast bar where one could eat or prepare dishes at.

A fireplace is found in the living room for those chilly nights, which is adjacent to the garden through a sliding door.

The bungalow comes fully carpeted and pristine-looking with its white walls.

Moreno's property is listed for $2.6 million and is handled by agent Mary Ellen Sherry.

Before it was placed on sale, the Malibu house last changed ownership in 1971. It was sold for $48,000 at that time.

The 83-year-old Rita Moreno is known to be the only person to win the four major entertainment Awards in the United States. She received and Oscar for the 1961 version of the "West Side Story" and two Emmys for "The Rockford Files" and "The Muppets."

Moreno also received a Grammy Award for her recording for "The Electrical Company" and a Tony Award for "The Ritz."

She had an eight-year affair with Marlon Brando before marrying her manager.
