“Captain America 3: Civil War” has finally gotten a production start date, which, according to Screen Rant, will be on April 1st. Although only very little information has been uncovered about the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, rumor has it that the new villain will be Baron Zemo.
Yibada has reported that Daniel Bruhl from “Woman in Gold” was recently selected to portray the villainous role. However, Bruhl has kept his lips sealed in the fear of being thrown into the “Marvel prison.”
“I am not supposed to say anything,” he said, according to Movie Web. “I cannot even talk about the part, really, because I would be too afraid to give something away, and then I’ll end up in the Marvel prison. I do not want that.”
Baron Zemo is one of Cap’s biggest foes. He is a Nazi scientist that has a thing for death rays and even creates one to destroy Earth. When Adhesive X exploded in his laboratory, the purple cowl that he wears became permanently stuck to his face.
It remains unclear how Baron Zemo comes into play in “Captain America 3: Civil War,” but Screen Crush speculates that he might primarily be featured in flashbacks to the 1940s. According to the report, Baron Zemo will be shown as the mastermind of turning Bucky Barnes into Winter Soldier, and Cap’s present-time enemy will be Crossbones.
It is no secret that Captain America, obviously, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye will be featured in “Captain America 3: Civil War.” This could only mean that none of them will be meeting their demise in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” However, Bleeding Cool has leaked that the movie’s slate of superheroes is actually much bigger than initially advertised.
Black Panther, a new addition to the MCU, or Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Wasp, War Machine, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Thor, and a 14-year-old Peter Parker will also be part of the action.
If what the report said pans out, then it would appear that Marvel is certainly invested in pumping up the Civil War storyline, as noted by Cinema Blend.
Moreover, Christian Post reported that the Atlanta Journal Constitution revealed a casting call for “Captain America 3: Civil War.” According to the report, the production crew is presently looking for movie extras with strong South Asian features and aged 21 to 75 years old.
The premise of the third installment into the “Captain America” franchise is actually based on the Superhero Registration Act. This new law mandates all existing superheroes to identify themselves and submit to Government oversight. This creates a great divide between two opposing factions within the group. Iron Man leads the pro-Government side, while Captain America leads the group that is against it; hence, the title, “Civil War.”
