Zayn Malik just excluded himself from the Manila segment of their One Direction “One the Road Again” tour. The 22-year-old singer reportedly left the tour due to stress, as reported by PEOPLE.
Through the years, Malik has always been followed by scandalous rumors and controversies but he constantly managed to brush them all off. This time, however, rampant reports that claim he cheated on his fiancée, Perrie Edwards, seemed to be the last straw.
A source revealed that Malik was actually not used to fame and that he has always been “the quiet one.”
“It is not like he is shy,” the source said. “He could always talk to the other boys and he could talk to people his own age. It was more like he was under-confident. Almost like he didn’t believe he should be there.”
The founder of One Direction, Simon Cowell, is rumored to be furious with Malik after the latter suddenly decided to take a break from the tour.
“Simon had had his own run-ins with what Zayn is dealing with and has told Zayn to be the man he is and own it,” a source told Hollywood Life. “He knows that the boys are all brothers and they will not break up and are there for him as well.”
The British man, who is more famous for his tough-as-nails personality, is very confident that Malik is fine and that he will be even better after he takes some time off. One Direction fans are happy that Cowell is very supportive of Malik and remains by the young man’s side during his time of need.
It would appear that fame and being constantly in the spotlight have taken its toll on Malik. He may be a huge international star but it is good to know that their founder, Cowell, fully understands that the boys are still very young.
When photographs of Malik holding another woman’s hand surfaced all over the Internet, multiple online reports say that Edwards was very upset about it. She has always ignored the cheating rumors that kept hovering over her relationship with the 1D band member but she reportedly has a hard time getting “the images of Zayn with the fan in the Thailand nightclub out of her head” this time.
The band, minus Malik, already touched down in Manila and performed the first part of their two-date concerts in SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, as reported by Inquirer. The second portion of their “One the Road Again” Tour resumed on Sunday night at the same venue.
