Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Price & Specs: Demo Unit Arriving March 27? 55 Million Edge Units Coming? [Rumors]

Samsung Galaxy S6 is almost out on the market, according to a Reddit user. The insider is reportedly someone who works "at the Samsung desk" and had already seen what the new Samsung Galaxy S6 looks like.

According to the leaked story, the demo unit will be out on March 27 this year. Tech Times reported that those who want to own their very own Samsung Galaxy S6 can now pre-order their unit, which will reportedly arrive on April 10 via Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon.

Samsung just introduced its two latest flagship devices during the 2015 Mobile World Congress, which took place in Barcelona last January.

The device is very thin and sports a sleek metal and glass design as well as boasts of octa-core processors. Favorite contacts are separated from the rest through a future-themed notification. When someone special or important is calling or sends the user a message, the unit will glow.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge will reportedly be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and will come with 3 GB worth of LPDDR4 RAM.

Rumor has it that those who will grab the device as soon as it comes out will have the option of getting another gadget for free. However, no details have been provided regarding the potential free device. There has been no confirmation either with regard the authenticity of this news.

Digital Trends stated that the launch of Samsung's all-new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge by 2015 appears to be promising. According to the predictions of a research firm based in Taiwan, the tech company will be rolling out a total of 55 million units this year alone.

The same report disclosed that this new 55-million-unit prediction is 20 percent more than the figures originally expected by DRAMeXchange which is a division of known market intelligence firm, TrendForce.

According to the estimated figures, Samsung will be shipping 4.4 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in the first quarter of 2015. Then, 22.2 million will be distributed when the second quarter starts. This is five million more than the order initially expected by DRAMeXchange.

As indicated in the report, Samsung already confirmed that the Galaxy S6 will be available in the United States from a multitude of carriers such as Boost Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular, MetroPCS, T-Mobile, and Cricket.

To date, no prices have been provided regarding these two units. However, it was noted that a safe bet would be around $199 for the Samsung Galaxy S6, while $299 for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
