New York Knicks Superstar Carmelo Anthony Selling Manhattan Condo With Central Park Views for $12 Million

Carmelo Anthony, more famously known as Melo, is presently recovering from a knee surgery. However, Zillow pointed out that he may be on the move pretty soon.

The present property Melo lives in with his wife, reality star La La, was just placed on the market for $12 million.

The building of their home, which is overlooking Central Park, actually dates back to 1925. Three of its rooms have breathtaking views of the park. The entire building only has 55 units, and a private elevator landing opens directly into the 15th floor home of the Anthonys.

Spanning over 4,000 square feet, their former home has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a massive living room, a spacious dining room, and its own library. It even has a versatile media room and an office space. It has high ceilings, a gas fireplace, and floors made of solid oak.

There are individual thermostats installed in every room as well as radiant heated floors for all of the property’s bathrooms.

Its kitchen is highly luxurious, boasting of fixtures from Dornbracht, Miele, and Bertazzoni appliances, Ceaserstone counter tops, and customized Italian-style cabinetry.

This new Manhattan listing is located on 5th Avenue, which is pretty close to the state’s world-class museums. The building has a concierge reachable 24/7, a separate playroom for the children, a bike room, its own massive parking lot, and a 2,600-square-foot fitness center.

Curbed reported that this building used to house hospital workers, and was only converted into luxurious condominium units in 2011.

Despite its early age, it was branded as the most expensive listing of its kind in the Harlem area and on both sides of Central Park. Street Easy stated that it is the priciest condo in the market in Upper Manhattan as well as in Morningside Heights. However, there is also a massive co-op on Riverside Drive that is in the market for $16 million.

Although it was previously reported that the Anthonys own this property, the family of the Knicks forward is only renting this unit for $29,000 per month. They will be packing their stuff up and will be leaving the place they once called home by August, as reported by Core NYC.

To date, there remains no word on whether a bid has been given for this listing. However, a separate Street Easy report stated that a $12 million apartment unit was once in the market for quite some time in 2007, and it only sold for $8 million.
