Buyers looking for a private oasis in a secluded place in Los Angeles need not look any further. "Mission Impossible" actor, Tom Cruise, recently put up for sale his "ultraprivate" home in Hollywood Hills and the agent's description sure fit the bill.
According to Realtor, the 2.75-acre real estate in the high-end neighborhood in Hollywood Hills is the best option for people looking to have a place away from the public eye. It seems that the actor who owns it designed the house specificially to ward off the paparazzi.
The property itself is placed on a separate hill from Mulholland Drive. Aside from that, the road going to the house is through a very long and private driveway that would not afford any outsider a look inside the area or its residents.
In a previous article on Realty Today, the house's design is said to give off a "rustic Tuscan meets modern feel" with its garden and oak wood plank flooring on the interior.
Taking advantage of the Sunset Strip and a view of the surrounding hills, it comes with three bedrooms outfitted with glass windows to highlight the house's location and its view.
In addition, the master suite has its own fireplace for chilly nights.
Meanwhile, another fireplace is found at the living room with a vaulted ceiling. Food is prepared in the "French farmhouse style kitchen" fully equipped with appliances that would make any chef swoon, said The Daily Mail.
Cruise's home also has a library, family room, den, and servants' quarters.
Guests who want to stay the night could do so in a separate guesthouse with four bedrooms with private bathrooms.
The place is also perfect for outdoor parties with the lagoon-style swimming pool to cool down during the warm weather.
However, all these features do not come at a cheap price. The mansion is listed for the price of almost $13 million and agents are saying that for its design, location, and privacy, that is already a good deal.
Marisa Zanuck from Nest Seekers Zanuck said, "Someone who wants extreme, extreme privacy is going to buy this house. Nobody knows who's coming or going. Nobody knows if anyone's home."
Even Gary Gold from Hilton & Hyland agreed with Zanuck. He noted, "It's for someone looking to be private. It's away from paparazzi, away from attention. There are no tour buses that can see this place."
Add to that is the magnificent view and topnotch location and the mansion's hefty price tag appears to be justified.
