Spice Girls Reunion: Famous Girl Band To Release New Album In 2016?

Fans of the British pop band One Direction may be reeling from the loss of Zayn Malik but it seems that another group from the land across the pond is geared towards a reunion. Rumors circulated that the 1990s girl band, "Spice Girls," are getting back together and might release a new album soon.

The news of a possible reunion was first reported in Now Magazine. Emma Bunton, also called "Baby Spice," told the magazine that the group thought of getting back together.

She revealed, "We love each other and we love performing together."

However, even with that passion, it might not be that easy to go ahead and rekindle their music fame. Bunton noted that one thing that delayed their reunion is their respective busy schedules.

She was nonetheless optimistic that once everything has been set, the five of them would get to it.

"It's just when the timing is right because we all have our own careers now and we have families, it's just about getting five schedules together and that's all it is," she said.

The Spice Girls became famous for their hit song "Wannabe," which would be celebrating its 20th year anniversary in 2016. This spurred fans to hope that a possible reunion concert or album might be in the works.

Moreover, the group does not even need to take time off from their busy schedule to record the songs. Apparently, Spice Girls had lots of other recorded songs that were not released.

Bunton confirmed this herself. A report in Billboard said the singer admitted that there were "lots" of tracks.

"We recorded lots and lots and lots of songs," she revealed. These songs do not even include the ones that leaked online. Another report in Billboard said that four tracks cut from the "Forever" album is now circulating online.

Until an official announcement is made, these reports remain to be just rumors. Even if the five could get their schedules right, it does not guarantee that everyone would be willing to get together as a girl band again.

An article in Bustle noted that Victoria Beckham or Posh Spice told Vanity Fair in 2014 that she is not keen on doing a Spice Girls reunion anymore.

"I won't ever do it again. Doing the Olympics was an incredible honor. I was so proud to do it. That was a perfect time to say, 'That's great. Thank you to everybody, but no more.' Sometimes you've got to know when it's time to leave the party," said Beckham.
