NBC News Chairman Selling Westchester Home for $4.1 Million [Video Tour]

Apart from making the headlines for his decision to return to NBC News and MSNBC, Andy Lack also put up his Bronxville mansion on the market. He listed his 7,247-square-foot home for $4.1 million through Rita Steinkamp.

Built by Tudor in 1925, the mansion features a lot of old-world designs that clearly stood the test of time. It has a very intricately designed wood paneling in its foyer and den area. Its living room ceiling features a hand-carved design as well as dramatic window frames made of wood in its sun room. Plus, its dining room has some wainscot panels that further exemplify its antique appeal.

According to a report from Realtor, the property has a total of eight bedrooms – six on the second floor and two on the third floor. The master bedroom has its own massive dressing room and its own master bathroom. A bonus room and recreation room can be found on the property’s lower levels.

Fans of “Today” are glad that Lack decided to return to head the show. Politico stated that the ratings of the show are declining quickly as it is now in second place to “Good Morning, America,” especially after the mishandling of Anne Curry’s decision to leave the show and the network. Plus, “Today” received a lot of negative criticisms because of the issue involving news anchor Brian Williams.

NBC News used to be right at the top of the list when Lack was with them during the 1990s. Now, Lack has returned to the show to work his magic to hopefully bring the news network back on its high pedestal.

Naming Lack as the new president of NBC News back in 1993 brought good news to the network, especially since it was shortly after the network suffered a lot of backlash for rigging a news report. Producers admitted via Variety411 that they rigged the burning of a pickup truck as part of a report about General Motors. Consequently, GM sued the network for defamation.

After all, Lack has a long history working as a media executive for a multitude of companies such as Sony Music Entertainment, NBC, Bloomberg Media Group, Broadcasting Board of Governors, and CBS News, according to MH Property Services. Moreover, he has some key associations with many of today’s best known journalists such as Katie Couric.

The challenges he has to face now that he is at the frontlines include the restoration of the credibility of NBC News. The network’s news show recently lost significant viewership after certain incidents were mishandled by the network.
