With the release of the Android Lollipop 5.1 update rolling out slowly over the past few weeks, many smartphone users are wondering when the release will be available for a number of their Samsung gadgets.
In a new report by GottaBeMobile, with Samsung still working on the roll out of earlier updates, namely the Android 5.0, Android 5.0.1 and Android 5.0.2, apparently, the 5.1 Lollipop fix hasn't even started development.
Per an exclusive by SamMobile, which has been very credible in terms of Samsung-related news, audiences were leaked the following information:
"Our insiders have revealed to us today that Samsung has started working on the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy A series. We have also been told that Samsung has not yet begun developing Android 5.1 for any compatible device. This isn't surprising at all given the fact that Google's latest stable version has been out for a couple of weeks now.
Recently Samsung Finland confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 will be among the devices that will receive the Lollipop update. Since then there has been no comment from Samsung about the status of this update. Our insiders reveal that there is no sign of Android 5.0 for the Galaxy Note 2. It isn't in development and hasn't even been mentioned yet."
The newest update, the Android 5.1 Lollipop will apparently carry bug fixes as well as new features that include device protection, HD Audio, the return of the "silent mode" and much more. However, it seems that Samsung Galaxy users will have to make do with the earlier updates for now.
