“The Incredibles 2” will premiere next year in 3D, according to Pixar Animation Studios manager Josh Hollander. Now that Pixar confirmed that the sequel is in the works, the superheroes will be brought out again and set 12 years after the first one.
Hollander may not be informed about which plot or storyline the studio will take for “The Incredibles 2” but Master Herald stated that the manager thinks it is a good challenge to maximize the animation technology for the much awaited sequel. An official release date might finally be announced at the D23 Expo in August, according to Cinema Blend.
The first movie hit cinemas in 2004, and fans of the animated film have been looking forward to the time when the story of the Parr family will be continued.
However, director Brad Bird neither confirmed nor denied the stories that the sequel is already in its production stages. He recently said in an interview that Pixar never looked up movie sequels merely as a lucrative venture. Bird said that the company values its personal relationship with its audience more, as compared to the potential amount of earnings they could get from the box office.
“I would like to think that I have several good ideas that could be incorporated into a next ‘Incredibles,’ but I don’t have a whole movie yet,” Bird told Inquisitr. “And the last thing I want to do is to do it just because it would open big, or something like that.”
If they could come up with a good, heartwarming story for “The Incredibles 2,” then they will be reportedly more than happy to allow the Parr family to make a comeback. Furthermore, he mentioned that if ever a sequel was going to be in place, he will also be more than happy to direct it.
Since no news updates were provided regarding the sequel, fans of the franchise took to social media to share their own speculations about what the next plot could be about. According to Realty Today, the movie might have less focus on Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, and more on the youngest member of the family, Jack-Jack. The report said that Jack-Jack, who is a teenage boy by now, will be facing problems controlling his superpowers.
A separate report from Realty Today indicated that Jack-Jack may even turnout to be a villain. According to the rumor mill, Jack-Jack will be mentored by the next movie’s super villain.
