Rihanna New Album 'R8' Track a Diss To Beyonce? Nope, Tension Fabricated Says Sources

Rihanna released a new track this week and sources have been quick to report that the track is actually an attack towards another female artist.

According to Gossip Cop, it was reported earlier that "B*tch Better Have My Money" is a "diss" track towards the "Single Ladies" singer Queen Bey because Rihanna is currently renewing her contract with Jay Z's RocNation.

The publication explains that "Rihanna and Jay Z have been longtime professional collaborators" and given that Jay Z runs RocNation, "Why would Jay Z sign off on a song meant as an attack on his wife?"

The site continues to argue that "'B*tch Better Have My Money was written by four different people, and produced by several others, including Jay Z's pal Kanye West." The site analyzes that even if Rihanna did have a problem with Beyonce, why would anyone associated with the music power couple "attach themselves to a purported Beyonce diss track?"

Lastly, GossipCop details that a source close to the "Cheers" singer has said that the anger directed to Beyonce through the new track is "unbelievably wrong."

"R8" Album Update

Rihanna is expected to unveil her newest studio album soon and with the singles being teased and unveiled, many believe the artist's eight album is well underway.

"R8" is the follow up to 2012's "Unapologetic." While the title and release date of the high-anticipated album has yet to be confirmed, the record is rumored to be titled, "R8," which RiRi herself tweeted numerous times.

The newest song follows the January track "FourFiveSeconds" which the artists recorded with Kanye West and Beatles star Paul McCartney. Additionally, two more songs ("Higher" and "American Oxygen") have been teased via the beauty's Instagram account.

While details of the album have been few, Kim Kardashian's significant other has been confirmed to have produced the new album. West recently told E! News (via Enstarz) at a Pre-Grammy Party, that he doesn't known when Rihanna plans to release her new album.

With all the hype being generated and teasers being released, sources believe we could finally see "R8" drop sooner rather than later.

Are you excited about the upcoming Rihanna album? While the wait for the new record has been long, fans can still enjoy new music by the artist that include the single "FourFiveSecond."
