'Captain America 3: Civil War' Plot & Release Date: Trailer Launch Leaked? Teaser To be Unveiled During Which Event? [Rumors]

With about a year to go until "Captain America: Civil War" hits the silver screen, fans are wondering when they'll get the first glimpse of the upcoming movie.

The third installment of the franchise is set to begin filming in April and while fans were expecting some footage during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, it was recently reported by the IB Times that with the July 9 to 12 date fast approaching, it's doubtful a trailer will be ready by then.

Additionally, the site adds that there is a chance the iconic superhero firm will be skipping the event in 2015.

"Meanwhile, fans hoping to get a glimpse of the Captain America: Civil War first trailer during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con might be disappointed as reportedly, Marvel will not be participating in the event this year. However, there is a strong chance that the studio might reveal the trailer during a (unconfirmed) 2015 Marvel Special Event."

Last October, Marvel held a special event where "Captain America 3" was unveiled and details were provided regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Phase 3." It's now being rumored that the event will become annual and the the venue for Marvel's updates and announcements, including a possible launch of the first "Civil War" trailer.

Lastly, the fall timeline for the release of the first trailer would be more feasible given that the studio would have had more or less six months of filming.

Film Summary and Plot

The franchise's third installment will focus on the Civil War involving the superheroes. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans) are the two characters central to the plot of the movie. The pair take opposing sides with regards to the Superhero Registration Act.

As earlier reported, it is heavily rumored that Sony and Marvel's recent agreement on Spider-Man joining the Marvel Universe has opened up the possibility of the web-slinger joining the cast for "Civil War."

"The idea of the SRA, and the pending Civil War, is still developing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so the inclusion of Spider-Man in that narrative could have a tremendous impact on the world, as a whole," analyzed the Cinema Blend. Per the site, in the original comic book series, Spider-Man sided with Iron Man.

"Captain America: Civil War" is due out May 6, 2016. The film stars included in the flick include Evans, Downey Jr., Daniel Bruhl and Chadwick Boseman.
