Ever since a trailer of the upcoming "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" was shown in 2012, many fans of the franchise are in great anticipation to get their hands on the popular video game. It seems that after three years, the wait would soon be over. Word came out that the video game by Konami is set to hit stores in the third quarter of 2015.
The video game was recently rocked with controversies involving the rumored departure of director Hideo Kojima from KONAMI came out. Fans were worried that the issue might further delay the release of the game.
In March 2015, Kojima and KONAMI came out with a joint statement that assured fans that the work in the said game is still on going, reported Cheat Sheet.
"I want to reassure fans that I am 100% involved and will continue working on METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN; I'm determined to make it the greatest game I've directed to day. Don't miss it. In addition, KONAMI will continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the METAL GEAR series following 'MGSV: TPP.' We greatly anticipate and deeply appreciate your ongoing support for METAL GEAR," wrote Kojima.
Perhaps as proof that Kojima is still very invested in the work with "MGSV: TPP," he posted an update on Twitter to reveal when fans could get their hands on the game.
He noted that the game would be officially released on Sept. 1 and those eager to have their copies could pre-order the Collector's Edition and premium package online, reported Christian Post.
Aside from the game, the Collector's Edition would include a bionic arm of Snake, gold weapons, three cardboard boxes, color schemes, four other costumes for Snake, and weapons with shields.
Those who missed their chance to purchase the Collector's Edition from Amazon may still do so from Game U.K. and EB Games Australia for £99.99 and AU$249.99, respectively.
Meanwhile, the film adaptation of the video game is still set to push through. A report in Game Rant revealed that the producers of the movie finally sealed the deal with a scriptwriter.
Work on the film started in 2007 but was sidetracked and discontinued until recently when Jordan Vogt-Roberts came on board in 2014 to helm the movie.
Another creative person became the recent addition as Jay Basu reportedly accepted the deal to write the film.
As the movie is still in the planning stages, no reports on the possible cast members have been made yet. There is also no definite timeline for the movie's release date and fans would just have to wait for further announcement from the men behind the upcoming film.
