Buyers looking for a ski house in Utah need not look any further. Reports came up that a 14,000 square feet place was listed with a downgraded price to make it more attractive and affordable to potential new owners.
None other than DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Katzenberg owns the log cabin retreat in Park City, Utah. In August 2012, The Hollywood Reporter first wrote of the property for sale at that time for $20.5 million.
The place, located at the high-end gated community of Bald Eagle Club, was built 20 years ago for the price of $10 million by architects Charles Gwathmey and Rick Otto.
Interior designer Naomi Leff, known for her works with other famous celebrities such as Ralph Lauren and Steven Spielberg, filled the interiors with rustic Western design to fit its surroundings.
According to Los Angeles Times, the ski house features seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. It also has multiple living rooms to entertain the numerous guests of the film producer over the years. The ski place has welcomed numerous politicians and Hollywood actors throughout the years. Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Michael Jackson, and Bill Clinton were among the top personalities who visited Katzenberg's Utah home.
It also has a formal dining room with a fireplace. However, this is not the only hearth in the house. There is also another fireplace found at the main living room with floor-to-ceiling windows found on each side to appreciate the scenic view outside.
The surrounding areas are not scant in offering great views as well. One could see Deer Valley, the city's lights, and other ski resorts from where the house is located.
While the place is equipped with a ski room with a direct way to the ski hill for winter games, the house also offers other activities that could be done indoors. It has a billiards room and a separate game room for guests to enjoy.
For those who want to swim but find it too chilly to do so outside, the house is equipped with an indoor pool and spa for any swimming enthusiast.
As his work is in animation and film, it is no wonder that the ski home of Katzenberg would come equipped with one of the two largest flatscreen televisions found in a United States house. He imported a 75-inch 3D television from Korea and mounted it on his ski retreat home.
Since Katzenberg and his wife rarely use the place, they decided to put it in the market. To make it more affordable, the couple slashed the price by almost 25 percent and are offering it now for $15.5 million.
Interested buyers could get in touch with Paul Benson from Engel & Volkers Park City, who is handling the house for the film mogul and his wife.
