Kanye West’s upcoming album is titled “So Help Me God,” and its track list may have been deleted from the Internet. Since no information regarding the album’s official release date has been provided, fans were quick to assume that the leak may have been authentic.
A Tumblr blogger, virgil-abloh, is behind the alleged track list revelation. Although the pictures and the album package appear to be the real thing, Design & Trend insiststhat they are, most likely, not legit.
The leaked images include the cover of the album, the track list, and the CD. According to the list, “So Help Me God” will be showcasing 11 hits that feature some of today’s biggest music artists, such as Paul McCartney, Rihanna, Jay Z, and Will Smith, among others.
What made some fans believe that the leaked list could be authentic is the inclusion of some of West’s already released tracks, such as “Wolves,” “All Day,” and “Only One.” Whoever made the track list and released it online remains unknown, but the album package seems to have been traced back to Jack Gambro, a graphic designer from Chicago, as indicated on JackGambroDesign.
Plus, it has been noticed that many music artists today have taken to “leaks” or a surprise album drop to introduce their latest musical work to fans and followers, such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Beyonce. It has even become a bit of a trend in the music industry, according to E! Online.
To address this concern, West’s representative revealed to E! News that Yeezus did not drop his album on Tidal as a surprise. Plus, the rep also denied that the track list was legit.
Radio mentioned that one strong conspiracy theory was that Tidal might have been behind the fabrication of the images. They might have initially assumed that the stunt will immediately get more people to sign up for their service, especially when Yeezus' fans believed that his new album was leaked there.
At present, Tidal is offering subscription packages that are priced from $9.99 to $19.99. The most expensive package reportedly promises better quality for music streaming. It is currently described as “the first streaming service that combines the best high fidelity sound quality, high definition music videos, and expertly curated editorial.” A free trial is also being offered.
Tidal has partnered with a long list of today’s biggest and most famous artists, such as Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, Nicki Minaj, Jason Aldean, Madonna, Beyonce, Hov, Rihanna, Jack White, J. Cole, Usher, Daft Punk, Regine Chassagne, Calvin Harris, Win Butler of Arcade Fire, and, of course, West.
