'King of Salsa' Marc Anthony Cuts Price of Long Island Estate by $2.5M

The Latin Grammy Award-winning artist, Marc Anthony, has cut the price for his Long Island Estate down by $2.5M, wanting only $9.5M for the property reports Zillow. The "King of Salsa" has listed this secured compound in a "sylvan Brookville setting" in 2014 for $12M, as exclusively featured in New York Times.

The Long Island estate consisting of 6.25 acres of land apart from the mansion, was Marc Anthony's answer in 2000 for a secluded property in the East Coast. He purchased the property for only $3.7 M that time. At the center of Anthony's estate is a 16-room brick manor house which was built in the 1940s, as reported by NY Times. The mansion reportedly boasts of a compatible Georgian-style pool house and a carriage house.

The grand mansion measuring over 10,000 sq. ft., has been designed by well-known decorator, Thom Filicia. Included in the three-story mansion are 10 bedrooms, eight full baths, five powder rooms, corner living room, mahogany-paneled library, grand dining room, and eight original fireplaces, says NY Times.

Other amenities of the grand Anthony mansion are a home theater, a professional recording studio, and an oversized master bathroom with its own fireplace, notes Zillow.

An interesting feature of the property is its grand gallery spanning the whole width of the mansion, which is adorned with French doors giving access to either a well-manicured lawn or a bluestone terrace with relaxing view of the swimming pool. Soaring ceilings, over 10 ft high, provide the elegance and comfort of this luxurious mansion, adds NY Times.

Anthony's twins must have enjoyed playing in the mansion's spacious sunroom lined with stone floors. New owners will be delighted with the custom-built butler's pantry with blackstone countertops linked to an "eat-in country kitchen" having sleek additions like a "white marble center island" and a "double-width trophy stove by La Cornue," as mentioned in NY Times.

According to NYTimes, there is also a separate colonial-style house for the guests which has access to a private road driveway. Zillow reports that the over 4000 sq. ft. guesthouse is already a grand mansion in its own right with 5 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, in an all white motiff.

Anthony's listing agent for the more than 8 acre Long Island property, with cast iron gates at the entrance, is Dolly Lenz of Dolly Lenz Real Estate, notes Zillow.

The Long Islands famed Gold Coast property served as the home and witness to Marc Anthony and Jennifer "JLo" Lopez's marriage. The two artists were wed in 2004 and ended it amicably in 2011, says NY Times. Until now, even though Anthony has remarried, they remained close because of their children, reports Huffington Post.
