The release of the game "Kingdom Hearts 3" has already been confirmed but developer Square Enix hasn't announced a specific release date.
Back in January, the team confirmed via Twitter that contrary to reports, the release date for the new game hasn't been revealed.
As reported by Latinos Post earlier, possible factors that have contributed to the supposed delay include the death of voice actors Leonard Nimoy and Chikao Otsuka as well as the switch in game technology.
"The last information we got about the game's development status is that the team had officially switched to the Unreal Engine in the middle of the game's development. This most likely means that 'Kingdom Hearts 3' will see some delays. It is very uncommon for a game to switch game engines in the middle of development, and it usually is accompanied by a delay with the games release date," quoted the publication of Air Herald's article.
"The last mainline game in the series was 'Kingdom Hearts 2', which was released in 2005. It will most likely be over a decade since there has been a main Kingdom Hearts game released in the series. There have been several other Kingdom Hearts games released since 'Kingdom Hearts 2'."
Even though the first teaser for the game was released two years ago during the E3 2013, per VCPost, we might be able to have a release date by the D23 Expo in August of this year.
Yosuke Matsuda, Square Enix CEO said in a recent interview, "I believe we'd like to go all out and offer as many things full of fun and surprises. And I'd like for us to maintain a development system that can continuously bring out this 'box of surprises'."
February 2016 Release Date?
It was confirmed by Sony that the game will not be released in 2015. As it revealed its list of games due out within the year, KH3 wasn't int he list indicating it would be out in 2016 at the earliest.
Cyberland has claimed that Square Enix has set an internal February 2016 release date with details to be unveiled at the 2015 E3.
"It can now be confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be available by February of next year. You guys can expect gameplay trailers and cinematic trailers at E3," wrote Cyberland in an unconfirmed report.
