Mixed martial arts has arguably the most brutal and fiercely-contested matches in sports; for the conservative few, it is beyond-borderline barbaric and inhumane.
That is why it's good to see these fighters at their more subdued side, just hanging around inside their cages cribs as ordinary harmless folks. Let's take a look at their homes, and gander at their humanity even for a while.
Anderson Silva
The UFC fighter regarded by many -- all of which, we're pretty sure, are not GSP fans -- as the GOAT (greatest of all time) in the sport of MMA, owns a Palos Verdes Estates house in California. Silva, dubbed as "The Spider", purchased the property to the tune of $1,760,000 in June 2011. Check out the photos here.
The home has four beds and 3.5 baths, and was built on a one-half acre of land. The Spider's nest can be found within the confines of Lunada Bay/Margate community. It is highlighted by its flooring made out of bamboo materials and a parceled wooden ceiling. It also features a "three-car garage, swimming pool & spa, fire pit, and a large balcony with a great view", as per CelebrityDetective.
Chael Sonnen
Probably, there's no better man in the UFC stable that can best give us a tour of any house than Chael Sonnen. For one, the guy's a licensed realtor. "He's got the welcoming air and the practiced ease of a true professional, pointing out the home's best features and putting a positive spin on its worst", says Josh Rosenblatt in his FightLand blog.
You won't believe us? In the video below, you can see the man doing what he does best outside of the octagon. The YouTube clip is courtesy of the UFC and shows Chael giving a guided tour of the place he was staying at during his stint as a mentor in the 3rd season of "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil."
Rampage Jackson
We can be sure that this former UFC Light Heavyweight champ has no real estate background whatsoever, but Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will not to be outdone when it comes to showing us the way around his Orange County mansion in California. Check out this video courtesy of the men from Stack.com. (What can you say, Chael?)
Chris Weidman
Anyone who's been following the UFC closely knows that this guy from Baldwin, Long Island is one tough nut to crack. Weidman overcame the improbable, and shocked the world back in 2013 when he knocked out the great Anderson Silva on his way to a UFC middleweight crown. But, even the best of them has no match when Mother Nature decides to hit hard on you.
Chris had to move to Dix Hills, New York with his family after his home in Baldwin was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
The UFC fighter bought the Colonial-themed estate for $795,000, the CelebrityDetective notes. The home was built in 1995 and has four bedrooms, with the same number of bathrooms.
