“Mass Effect” will be coming soon, as confirmed by the developer and series creator, BioWare. Despite the announcement, gamers are still left in the dark with regard the exact date when the game will be out.
Some sources indicated that the game is already playable, while others insisted that “Mass Effect” is still years away from coming to fruition.
According to Game Rant, Electronic Arts will also be releasing the much awaited “Mirror’s Edge 2.” If what the rumors say pan out, it appears that EA is going to have a strong slate of games scheduled to be launched for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One in the next year. Apart from “Mirror’s Edge 2,” rumor has it that EA will also be giving away “Star Wars Battlefront” and the next installment for “Need for Speed.”
It was Michael Patcher, a notable video game analyst, who claimed that “Mass Effect” will be out sometime in the fiscal year of 2016. This means that it will be out from this month to March of next year. That said, it can be understood that fiscal years and calendar years do not always necessarily match.
Now that “Dragon Age: Inquisition” is out and winning award after award in the gaming industry, fans are pretty sure that “Mass Effect” production will be shifted into full gear soon. According to the rumor mill, Chris Schlerf of “Halo 4” and BioWare’s very own David Gaider are busy working on the project, and will be incorporating motion picture to make the game even more interesting.
More people might be joining the duo soon since BioWare senior development director Chris Wynn announced on Twitter his call for producers who could possibly help improve the “Mass Effect” experience.
These speculations were rooted from the assumptions that Patcher’s statements are correct. Those who are pretty much inclined in the gaming industry know that Patcher has been wrong before. Plus, it must be noted that even if what he stated pans out, the plans of BioWare can very easily change.
Lately, the biggest and highly coveted games have been purposely delayed in their releases due to certain reasons. Even if Electronic Arts will officially announce a release date for “Mass Effect” or for “Mirror’s Edge 2" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, things can quickly change if their developers suddenly decide that they need more time.
