'Call of Duty' 2015 Black Ops 3 Release Date Confirmed, April Reveal Announced by Activision

Following the confirmation that Treyarch is back to develop the next "Call of Duty" title, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming game. Many reports have been released regarding the game's possible title, pegged to be either "World at War" or "Black Ops."

Now, we are no longer in the dark. Per GameSpot, the next game in the popular video game franchise will be "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," which will be revealed on April 26.

Earlier today, a teaser trailer -- lasting a little over a minute -- was released confirming this year's title but more details as to the game have yet to be released.

The last title for the series was "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" released in 2012 for consoles and PC. Based on the footage of the teaser which contains a number of references and voices from the previous title, the game may have a lot of tie in with its predecessor.

Per Charlie Intel, more details about the game were revealed through the official website. The game's official description was revealed through the source code, which also indicated a redesign:

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most played games in Call of Duty history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, it providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever."

Snapchat Clues

As reported earlier, a number of "Call of Duty" gamers were surprised to uncover a series of new clues within the "Black Ops II" world. Ghost images were spotted in the game which led to more clues via the game's Snapchat and Twitter accounts. This led many to believe something was going to happen with regards to the series.
