Golf enthusiasts looking for a new abode in the California area need not look further. A house in the Bear Creek Community has recently been put up for sale, giving its future buyer a short distance travel to the nearby Bear Creek Golf Course and Club.
According to the Los Angeles Times, ex-professional baseball player Barry Bonds used to own the property. The former Major League Baseball star acquired the house in 1992 after he received the MVP award while playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The property is seated on 1.2 acres of the gated community in Murrieta. The house itself is 11,700 square foot in size and composed of six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, noted Zillow.
Adding privacy and limiting access to outsiders, a long and gated driveway precedes the main entrance to the Mediterranean-style house. Inside the property, one is welcomed with an iron staircase that sweeps the front towards a foyer.
Inside, the place is airy and bright due to the 30 feet high ceiling. Highlighting the place's grandiose feel are the skylights and arched doorways found at the interior. The designers did not hold back in replicating a Mediterranean feel with detailed moldings found inside the house.
Apart from the six bedrooms, the place is equipped with other amenities that would surely keep its residents preoccupied and entertained. It comes with a home theater that uses a hidden projector to show films.
The dual-island kitchen is complete with equipment that would make any chef or baker green with envy. Bonds' former residence also comes with a media room, gym, and an onyx-lined office that could be converted to a library.
Perhaps one unique feature of the place is the way residents could easily control the lighting, security, and sound inside the house with tablet controllers. Fifteen of these have been strategically placed across the house for easier access of the owners.
While the interior is equipped with different amenities, the outside is not lagging behind. There is a lagoon style pool complete with a water slide and waterfall to cool down from the California heat.
An outdoor living area and barbecue are also set in place for backyard parties and events.
The place is currently listed at $4.5 million. Pacific Sotheby's International Realty is handling the property with Patricia Clarke as the listing agent.
Bonds sold the house in 1995 for $2.1 million after moving his family to Atherton in 1993.
