Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant listed his Newport mansion in April 2013 and from an initial listing of $8.6 million its been lowered to $6.45 million but still remains on the market.
According to Next Shark, the home boasts of a Mediterranean-style design within 8,500 square feet interior.
Amenities on the property the new owner will enjoy includes an 850 square foot gym, hair salon (built for Mrs. Vanessa Bryant), a personal theater, wet bat, private library with a shark tank. In addition to the listed luxuries, the home has four bedrooms, seven bathrooms with stunning city and ocean views.
Given that Kobe is such a basketball icon, it was imagined that the home, with a number of additions made courtesy of the Bryant, would have sold quickly.
The residence is managed by Boutique Real Estate (via Realtor.com) and the long-standing listing is definitely one that pressures the firm.
"That's a purple elephant on my back. I would definitely take the home off the market for a while. I'd repackage the entire presentation. I'd create a brand around the house-that would mean grabbing a URL, taking all new photos, and creating a documentary on the house," said Raj Qsar of Boutique Real Estate Group.
Prior to selling the home, the home was part of Vanessa and Kobe's divorce settlement, which didn't push through. Ownership of the mansion, along with two other properties, was suppose to be transferred to Vanessa as part of the couple's $75 million divorce settlement.
The couple reconciled and decided to call off the divorce in 2013.
Kobe Bryant Career
There is no question regarding Kobe's basketball greatness but following a string of injuries and a season ending shoulder injury, there's a lot of question regarding the legend's future.
The 36-year-old has admitted in the past that retirement has crossed his mind but as of now, he hasn't made concrete plans.
Dubbed as "The Black Mamba," after 17 seasons, he has become one of the best players in NBA history. Bryant is the LA Lakers' offensive centerpiece as he averages 22.6 point and 5.7 assists per game.
According to Forbes, Kobe earned $62 million in 2014 and is estimated to be worth about $300 million.
