The Philippines People's Champ's mouthguard was made for him by Dr. Dela Vega, a Canoga Park, California, based-dentist, reports, ABS-CBN.

"There's an extra protection inside the mouthpiece. So the whole front where he really needs protection is very hard. Also, if you see the indentation this is where his lower teeth would fit. So when he bites, the teeth lock so the jaw doesn't move laterally," he said.

Dr. Dela Vega said a custom polyvinyl acetate (PVA) mouthguard costs $500 but he offers it to Pacman for free and other Filipino fighters.

The Money's $25K Mouthpiece

Meanwhile, TMZ Sports showed the photos of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s unbelievably expensive $25K mouthpiece on its report. The outlet says that Floyd pays about that amount for the grill protectors made especially for him by the famous New York City based-dentist Dr. Lee Gause. The dentist is a mouthpiece maker depended on by several professional athletes, says TMZ.

Ordinarily, Dr. Gause's mouth piece would just cost $230, says Forbes. But why is it so pricey? TMZ says that what makes this Mayweather mouthpiece expensive is that it has real, actual 100 dolar bills, gold flakes and diamonds, sealed in the mouthguard, customized for Floyd.

Mayweather says he really liked Dr. Gause's work as it helped him breathe better during his fight and really protected his teeth, states TMZ. "My career's gone on 19 years and I've been able to preserve my smile," says Mayweather.

So what can you say about their mouth guards?

As for Manny's camp, ABC-CBN says Dr. Dela Vega laughs about Floyd's customized mouth guard. "It doesn't do any other protection. It's all hype. That's all there is to it and Floyd is known for that. He wants to show everybody he wants to rub it in the face of boxers that can't afford it," the dentist claimed.
