Apple Watch Specs, Features & Release Date: New Gadget Already Sold Out in Six Hours? [Rumors]

It seems that some fans of the Apple Watch would have to wait longer to get their hands on the newest gadget offered by the company. Word is out that all three designs of the wrist device are sold out just a few hours after it was opened for online ordering.

Pre-order of the Apple Watches for the April 24 launch date was opened to the public starting April 10 at 12:01 A.M., said IGN. However, it did not take long for the fans of the Cupertino-based tech firm to order online and all three kinds of the wrist gadget sold out within six hours.

It is not yet clear whether the company came out with only a few pieces of the devices or the demand has surge within the few months since it has been first unveiled to the public, said Mac Rumors. However, the company did anticipate that their initial supplies would not be enough for the market.

Prospective buyers of the wrist device need not worry though. While the Apple Watches available for shipping on the April 24 - May 8 period may have been sold out, supplies are still coming albeit delivered at a later date.

The devices are available in three variations of Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport, and Apple Watch Edition.

The first model to sell out is the Apple Watch Sport. Known for its aluminum casing, the said variation would now be available online with shipping date estimated at four to six weeks.

For the stainless steel edition Apple Watch, the Black Classic Buckle wrist design was the last version to sell out after the preorder was made available online.

The Apple Watch Edition comes in 18-karat gold casing and is the most expensive of the type. It immediately sold out as soon as the pre-order was made available.

People looking to preorder the said design would have to wait for the June - August shipping date. 9to5mac reported that the rose gold edition would not be available for shipping until July 2015.

They could still cop the watches once all three become available on select Apple stores in June. However, the company has not revealed how many would be available by then.

For orders outside the United States, the arrival of the watches vary. Some reports indicated that those who bought online in Japan would have to wait six months to get their hands on it.
