Apple's unveiling of its newest MacBook may indicate what the company has in store for its other products.
The newest 20125 laptop with Retina display, Apple's thinnest and lightest yet, weighs in at 2-pounds, has enhanced resolution, new touchpad and redesigned hardware that has an all-in-one USB-C port.
Latest reports from DC Inno indicate that there are whispers that the Cupertino-based company may also take the same approach towards its rumored iPad Pro.
The site notes that one of the most controversial and drastic changes taken by the Tim Cook-led company would be the introduction of the single USB-C port for all USB 3.0 plug-ins and its Thunderbolt power adapter.
"One of the universal concerns among potential MacBook consumers has been the dominating data port overhaul evident in the new laptop turned ultrabook. Namely, the single USB-C port, which is used to replace every port on the computer, save the audio jack - including: the power adapter, Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 ports. Rather unfortunate for iPad fans, it now seems that this same design mentality may be coming to your next iPad model."
Alleged images of the iPad prototype model show what many believe to be a USB-C connector.
Aside from the connector, the images show complete jacks and controls that include mute button, rear camera, volume controls we still see the typical mute control and the marking of an Apple logo.
In addition to this, Stuff.tv has also speculated whether the new universal connectivity port will be used for keyboard as well as mouse compatibility given that the expected Pro tablet is geared towards productivity and the use of professionals.
"Its side location could also hint at a keyboard dock accessory, transforming the tablet into a laptop. USB-C can handle power as well as display output, so this could very well be a possibility."
As usual, Apple hasn't confirmed the images or the speculation but with the release of the 2015 MacBook, everyone is now wondering, will the singular USB-C feature be something that will be carried across all of Apple's products?
iPad Pro Specs & Features
Various sources speculate that the over-sized tablet will come in two sizes, a 12-inch tablet along with a larger option which comes in at 14-inches. It's expected to also come loaded with an A8X processor, 2GB of RAM, stylus and Touch ID features.
Other enhanced features include better life performance with a possible 11,000mAh battery as well as a 2K resolution.
The device was expected to launch early 2015 but has since been delayed due to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus demands. Production has been pushed back to the second quarter of 2015 which means a fall 2015 launch.
