'Wonder Woman' Movie, Cast & Trailer: Gal Gadot To Work With 'Monster' Director

The "Wonder Woman" standalone film is back on track. A few days after announcing that Warner Bros and director Michelle MacLaren have gone their separate ways, a new director has been confirmed.

In a Hollywood Reporter exclusive, it was revealed that Patty Jenkins has signed on to direct the female-led superhero blockbuster.

For those who think the name is familiar, it might be because Patty was set to helm the rival Marvel film, "Thor: The Dark World" but due to creative differences, she was replaced by Alan Taylor.

MacLaren's experience was solidified as a veteran TV director and producer. Some projects under the 43-year-old film director' belt include "Velocity Rules," "Just Drive" and her debut film, "Monster," an indie that awarded Charlize Theron (Aileen Wuornos) with 2004's Best Actress Oscar.

In the world of television, Jenkins has also been recognized for her work. E! Online recalled that as a director, she's an Emmy nominated director and took home the Directors Guild of America Award for her work on AMC's pilot for "The Killing". Other TV credits to her name include "Arrested Development," "Entourage" and more.
