The inclusion of Spider-Man in Marvel's Cinematic Universe has got a number of comic book fans excited and are eager to know what the future has in store for the much-loved hero.
It was announced by Marvel and Sony Pictures that the character would make its debut in a MCU film and have its own standalone movie to be released on July 28, 2017.
Now, Marvel's president has provided more details about the upcoming movie. Kevin Feige spoke to Crave Online and spoke about some of the plans they've got for the well-known superhero. Feige acknowledged that a lot of stories have been told about the web-slinging superstar over the past decade but shares they'll be focusing on the core of the hero's character.
"It will not be an origin story," continued Feige. "But, with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers."
He even teased and laughed while saying "There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don't know it yet."
While no Spider-Man actor has been announced, it seems work on the character's costume begun a while back and it's going to be a classic. He teased that "...we've already designed the costume, which is different than any of the ones that have come before. And yet ours is classic Spidey, as I think you'll see."
Peter Parker or Miles Morales?
There has been rumors that the era of Peter Parker is going to end and Marvel wanted to tell the story of Miles Morales instead. In another interview with MTV (via IndieWire), Feige responded to the rumors and confirmed we will be seeing the Spider-Man we all know and love.
"I mean, we always felt it should be Peter [Parker] because we've never seen the MCU version of Peter Parker," admitted Feige. "We felt like we needed to see that first. Miles, I think is awesome. I think there are opportunities for him for sure if this all works."
It's believed that Spider-Man will be making his debut in the third installment of the Captain America franchise, "Captain America: Civil War" but the speculations have yet to be confirmed. As earlier reported, Spider-Man/ Peter Parker has a big role to play in the Civil War issue that centers on the Superhuman Registration Act.
"Captain America: Civil War" stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. and is set to arrive in theaters in 2016.
