The Los Angeles Angels' slugger, Josh Hamilton, is selling his Newport beach mansion for $16.5 Million, reports Los Angeles Times.
The athlete reportedly bought it for $12M in 2013, based on property records, says the outlet.
There are many outstanding features showcased by the Hamilton property which covers almost 10,900 sq.ft. of living area. The LA slugger's home, sitting on the highest level of the Crystal Cove community, boasts stunning and sweeping ocean views, including other wonderful sights such as the Santa Catalina Island and the nearby coastline, notes the site.
The Newport Coast estate resting on half an acre of land reportedly includes an infinity-pool that caters to water-loving people with discriminating taste. With an outdoor kitchen, a spectacular party could be arranged easily in the company of the host's friends.
The LA outfielder home is also equipped with an elevator which services the three-story property. Built in 2013, the multi-story home now includes six bedrooms, eight-and- a-half baths, living and dining complex, parlor room, home office and a modern kitchen with an island, says the news site. The Newport home prides itself by having an entertainment level consisting of a wine cellar, game room, and a home theater. The home also features a car garage that could accommodate eight cars!
Interested parties may contact Kevin Aaronson of Keller Williams Realty who is the listing agent for the Hamilton estate, notes LA Times.
Challenging times for Hamilton?
In February, Hamilton, a former Texas Ranger, filed for divorce from his wife Katie, reports The Dallas Morning News.
In the same month, the outfielder was rumored to have gone into substance abuse relapse, as mentioned in LA Times, to the disappointment of Arte Moreno, the Angels' team owner.
Moreno has said that Hamilton might not play for Los Angeles again, reports Dallas Morning News but because of the five-year contract he signed in 2012 worth $125M, he may still get $83 million over the next three years. The 2010 AL MVP is presently recuperating from a right-shoulder injury, says LA Times.
Support from friends
Hamilton has a true friend in C.J. Wilson who is very supportive of his teammate. In his interview with Alden Gonzales of MLB.com, Wilson described Hamilton's recent relapse as a "tame scenario," reports Yard Barker. "It's my 100-percent opinion that Josh is not a risk to himself or anybody else. That's what I feel having known him for 8 years. That's the closest thing I can get to a factual opinion," said Wilson to Gonzales.
Yard Barker notes that for Angels manager Mike Scioscia, who met with Hamilton on Wednesday, "He's on his way with his physical recovery. He's getting into more baseball activities and we'll just see when he's ready to get out and really get after it and play. We're not sure yet."
