‘Avengers 2: Age of Ultron’ Plot, Cast & Trailer: Loyalties & Friendships Tested? Is Everything Iron Man’s Fault?

When the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" trailer was first released, fans were quickly enamored by the team's new enemy. Ultron - an artificial intelligence creation of Tony Stark - became a huge star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe overnight.

Stark's creation only started to become a villain when he turned rogue, becoming a massive maniacal robot. Iron Man then has to face the repercussions of having created the planet's latest threat. He will consistently blame himself for creating intelligence that could bring destruction to the world, while the rest of the Avengers will question his loyalties - doubting his true intentions when he created Ultron in the first place.

A released featurette showed that the dynamics within the Avengers were already starting to change following Ultron's arrival. In the first film of the huge Marvel franchise, everyone was still getting to know each other better and were working together to be a stronger team. However, in "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron," it looks like their loyalties will be tested.

Loki's attempts at tearing the group apart may have failed in "The Avengers," but it looks like Ultron will finish the job, as pointed out by Screen Rant.

Newsarama noted that superheroes, who are not originally part of the Avengers, stepped up. Don Cheadle as James Rhodes or War Machine was seen completely ditching his usual Iron Patriot armor, following the events of "Iron Man 3," and opted to reprise his role as War Machine.

It appears that director Joss Whedon has been very busy with the franchise - keeping the original team intact whilst adding some new characters into the mix. Fans wanted to know whether there were times when he felt like there was a thin line dividing real life and comic book lore, especially as he has spent his "entire career being bred for this job."

"I directed TV shows and a movie about superhero teams," Whedon told The Guardian. "I have written Marvel comics. Reality? What is that? Is that a thing? Is that what the kids are doing now? I work on the movie, go to sleep, work on the movie, go to sleep. When will I be ready to stop? About three months ago."

"It is not such a surprise to me as it seems to be to everybody else," he added.

Whedon has been praised for pulling off such an amazingly done franchise. He managed to bring together all those huge superheroes and gave them equal exposure. Plus, he redeemed the role of the Incredible Hulk after the two previously done movies about the green mutant massively failed.
