Ever since it was reported that Electronic Arts is working on the soccer simulation video game, "FIFA 16," fans of the series are eagerly anticipating what's next for their favorite players. Reports have circulated that the upcoming video game might soon feature a story mode to make things more exciting for the players.
The rumors started when some fans noticed a job advertisement posted on the developing company's career website, reported Game Ranx. The vacant position is for a narrative designer and since the vacancy has been posted, many speculated what it means for EA's upcoming video game.
According to the advertisement, "The narrative designer will bring the player's experience to explosive life in its story-telling mode, championing story to the team and ensuring that script, speech and story-telling devices are tuned to achieve a gripping emotional narrative experience."
Based on the responsibilities, some fans quickly surmised that "FIFA 16" would finally head into a different direction and include a story mode.
Unlike other video games from rival developing firm, 2K, "FIFA" is one that never added a story mode into its titles. In fact, it is known to not have any "narrative sequences," saidSegment Next.
However, the addition of a narrative designer could mean that the people behind the popular soccer game now intends to add a new feature such as the MyPlayer, which is similar to the NBA game created by 2K Sports.
Another speculation is that there would be an upgrade in the career modes in "FIFA 16" that would need help in building its storyline. This is where the narrative designer comes in.
While EA creates many other video games, some people guessed that the new position would bring in work to "FIFA 16" because of the vacancy's job description, said Master Herald.
According to the job description, the hired person would "work closely with other designers and producers to create game worlds where story is core to the player experience and will drive an innovative story vision that is central to one of EA's AAA titles."
Currently, EA has "FIFA 16" and "Madden 2016" as the only AAA titles in its roster. Unless it is for a new title, then there is a high possibility that the narrative designer would come in for the soccer simulation video game.
The development of "FIFA 16" began in August 2014. Given the long wait, it seems that the developers in EA are determined to give players an amazing gameplay experience with upgraded visuals and animations.
The developers have not issued any statement regarding its official release date but some fans speculated that a preview of the game in the E3 event in June is possible.
