An unofficial YouTube video that claims to be the post-credits scene of the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" has been leaked online. Much to the surprise of the franchise's fans, the special scene featured Peter Parker wearing his Spider-Man costume.
Spider-Man was hanging by the side of a tall sky scraper, on what looks like a window washer, with the Avengers Tower clearly shown in the background. Despite how creatively the video was done, Screen Rant reported that it is a fake one.
Although it might be true that teasing Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) through a post-credits scene for the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" sounds like a good idea, Joss Whedon already confirmed that there will be no such scene after the credits roll, as reported by The Daily Beast. However, there will be a mid-credits scene in its stead.
Despite the official announcement, Hit Fix reported that many Marvel fans immediately became dubious. The fact that Whedon was quick to respond to questions regarding the post-credits scene raised a lot of eyebrows.
Furthermore, it was previously reported that Peter Parker will be around 15 to 16 years old when he becomes part of the MCU. According to the rumor mill, the high school superhero will be making his debut appearance in "Captain America 3: Civil War" and will be featured in a solo reboot movie in the summer of 2017.
According to multiple sources, the actor for the role has not even been selected yet. This casts a shadow on the authenticity of the leaked video clip since someone was already lending his voice to the web-slinger's character.
Also, the timing of the leak perfectly matched the international premiere of "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron." Apart from this particular Marvel film, it was also leaked shortly after the early release of two other superhero movies over the last several days, namely, "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Fantastic Four."
At first glance though, the scene appears to be authentic as it was very well crafted. Closer scrutiny showed that the people who fabricated it may have had most of the credits correct but mistakenly used an older logo for Dolby Digital. They even included credits for Spider-Man creators Steve Ditko and Stan Lee.
