'Batman: Arkham Knight' Release Date, & Trailer: Gameplay Details & Characters Teased by Executive

The newest title for the "Batman: Arkham" series is due out this year and more information has been revealed regarding its gameplay mechanics.

Over social media, "Batman: Arkham Knight" director and co-founder of Rocksteady Studios Sefton Hill tweeted about what the new title has in store for gamers.

Over a series of three posts, Sefton announced that the trailer won't be released this week as promised but indicates it will be worth the wait. Based on his latest review of the game, he teases a new feature has been added.

"So I promised a trailer date this week but then we thought of a much more exciting way to do this so you'll need to wait just a bit longer. Not to rub it in but I reviewed the latest edit and it's looking sweet. You might well see someone familiar from Arkham City in there. The trailer also shows off a very cool new feature to @BatmanArkham that no one outside of Rocksteady / Warner has seen before!"

Collectible Toys

In order to give players a comprehensive collection to accompany the game, DC's collectibles division has offered fans a look at the collectible statues and action figures set to be available this fall.

In the report by Game Informer, "The line-up, which features multiple sculptors and styles, features some of DC Comics' most iconic heroes and villains in collectibles that are sure to get fans throwing down some dough."

The game will be the epic conclusion to the action-adventure video game series:

"In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady's uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City. Be The Batman."

"Batman: Arkham Knight" is set for release this year, June 23, 2015. The game developed by Rocksteady Studios will be available in PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, Linux as well as Mac OS.
