'Clash of Clans' April 2015 Update: Feature Allowing Players to Change Village Name Out Soon

Great news is in store for all players of "Clash and Clans" who wish they could name their villages after their favorite movies. Word is out that the developers of the game in Supercell are bringing in an update that would allow players to do so soon.

The developers released a statement about the upgrade on their company site. It acknowledged what fans have been clamoring for the longest time, which is the option to rename a village to make it more personal.

The statement read, "We've heard you - we've heard you loud and clear. All Clashers want a village with the best possible name, and so many of you have written in to ask for a chance to change the name of it."

It continued, "So that's why we're currently working on a feature that will let you (yes, you!) change your village's name in-game, in case you're unhappy with your current username and would like a new handle."

The current set up of "Clash of Clans" do not allow players to rename their villages. According to Inquisitr, when users sign up to play for the first time, they would be asked for a username to serve as their identification throughout the game.

Every time they create a village, this username becomes the village's name. The men behind the game did not create an option for the players to edit or modify the village name into something they like. No reason was given for the lack of this customization.

However, all that would soon change because of the upcoming update from Supercell. Players who started out with a funny and quirky usernames could soon find themselves coming up with more serious names that does not call attention to it for other players to target.

While the name change option is arriving in the form of an update, it is still unclear whether it would require additional fees to use it. It is also not known if Supercell would throw in other upgrades and changes upon its release.

No exact date has been mentioned for its release as well. The press release added, "The feature will be included in a forthcoming update as soon as everything is ready. Just hang in there a little bit longer."

It remains to be seen whether the "little bit longer" part of the statement is in the next few weeks or months. The good thing is that Supercell assured that the update is coming.
