'GTA 6' Release Date & Gameplay: New Grand Theft Auto Won't Come Out Until 2020? Rockstar Mapping Entire United States! [Rumors]

Barely a month since Rockstar Games released the PC version of "Grand Theft Auto 5," fans of the series are already looking ahead of what's new to come to the popular game. Word came out that the people behind it is taking things to an entirely new level with the addition of the entire United States in the game's map.

Ever since "GTA 5" came to the consoles with its numerous expansion packs, followers of the game have been excited to see what's next for Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. While some reports came out and said that "GTA 6" would arrive as early as next year, it might not seem likely especially if the rumors about its size are to be believed.

According to Tweaktown, the upcoming game is reportedly coming up with the biggest location for players to explore as it maps out the whole of the United States for a more exciting gameplay.

Previous titles concentrated only on a specific city or location such as San Andreas or Los Santos. With players expecting bigger and more thrilling action, however, it does seem a good idea to expand the locations a bit.

Venture Capital Post reported that in an earlier interview with Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies, he revealed that the developers already had an idea on where to take the next game. "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what 'GTA 6' will be, but we've got some ideas."

Among these ideas is where to set the game next. His statement sparked rumors that the game might head to New York, Los Angeles, and even Miami. In fact, some fans even speculated that the game could go across the pond and be set in London instead.

While the rumors are yet to be confirmed, some people already expressed pessimism over the idea that "GTA 6" would cover the whole of the United States.

One report noted, "Loading the entirety of the USA would have its issues. I mean, driving from one city to another could be a real chore, especially if it's just filled with country side and nothing much to do in between."

Should this be true, then it would possibly take the people in Rockstar Games a long time to launch the upcoming game. Some reports have pegged a 2020 release.

While the time may seem so far off, the timeline is just about right based on the trend of "GTA" titles released, noted Ecumenical News. "GTA 5" came five years after the launch of "GTA 4" and with a map as big as the United States coming, then five years from now would be a safe bet for the exciting title to arrive.
