"Fifty Shades of Grey" is part of a trilogy of bestselling novels penned by EL James. However, it appears that she has passed the pen for the sequel's script to someone else.
The Hollywood Reporter stated that "Fifty Shades Darker," the sequel to the raunchy blockbuster, will be written by James's husband, Neiall Leonard. He is also an author and a script writer, having written for a multitude of TV shows in the United Kingdom such as, "Wire in the Blood" and "Air Force One is Down." He also has his own line of books, called "Crusher."
Leonard was actually among the writers behind the script of "Fifty Shades of Grey." However, he was not credited for an unspecified reason.
"Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits," producer Michael De Luca told The Hollywood Reporter, as reported by Us Weekly. "We are lucky to have him join Team Fifty."
Now that an official script writer has been named for the sequel, fans of the franchise are starting to wonder on when they can get to see Christian Grey again. Thankfully, Access Hollywood managed to get their hands on an exclusive first sneak peek of Jamie Dornan's masquerade look in "Fifty Shades Darker."
As always, the Irish actor looked very attractive as he was putting on a mask for what seems to be a masquerade ball. He looked very dapper in a fitted tuxedo as he stared at himself at the mirror.
Although the movie still was from the second installment of the franchise, the report also mentioned that Universal Pictures actually already announced at the recent CinemaCon that "Fifty Shades Freed" is also already in the works. Aside from the photo, no other details were provided regarding the two upcoming movies.
Apart from the "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise, Dornan is also busy filming for a new flick for Netflix, called "Jadotville." Channel 24 reported that he is presently in South Africa to film the war thriller which will be out by next year.
"Fifty Shades of Grey," which managed to reel in over $500 million on the global box office, will finally be out on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 8.
"Fifty Shades Darker" will be hitting theaters on February 10, 2017, while "Fifty Shades Freed" will be out on February 9, 2018.
